Oktoberfest 2008

Here I am with my friend and William. It didn't rain any of the 4 days in mid September which is rare for Oregon. We had fun and Taylor did the face painting that you see. This is a picture taken at the outdoor dance floor.

What's up with the Pier Family

Sorry we haven't posted for awhile. Kelli is doing very well in school. We are reading the Wind and the Willows together and she is also reading many fairy related books like into the Labyrinth. Recently though, reading has decreased as dad bought them a PS3. William wants to play and Kelli likes to play. They have the Wally, Cars and Lego Indiana Jones games.

William loves trains, planes and automobiles. He likes to take a hot wheels car with him wherever he goes. He also loves visiting the hot wheels web site- though we may not enjoy it so much because he needs help and often changes his mind on a game 30 seconds after the game has started and wants a different game. We wish the Acceleracers would be able to make more DVD's. He is talking more each day and still has a soft spot in each of our hearts even though he seems to hit and get into more and more things. He often raids the treasure chest at work for a glider which once put together is quickly torn apart. He seems to think it is a game.

Kelli likes to play fashion designer. She will hopefully get her room all to herself by December. Free of dad's work desk and paperwork. She is learning many things at school. We went to High School Musical on the opening weekend. She is busy making friends and wanting to be included.

Tom and I are busy with work and kids. By June of 2009, hopefully we will be completed on the office remodel and that will allow us to have a little more free time.

A few photos of William

William enjoyed Disneyland too. Here's one of the last pictures before his hair cut. Dad didn't have them take off too much, so he still as some curls.

A few photos to catch up

We went to the magic kingdom in May. Here are a few photos. This was a photo taken while we waited for the electrical light parade.

Cool refreshment on a hot day.

Playhouse

The Playhouse had been remodeled since the last time we had been there. Both kids liked playing house. ( I thought the remodel was great- before it was just bare wood.

Will, you ride a tired horse

William loved this swing. As well as the slide. It was very hard to get him to leave the play areas and also take turns-some tantrums ( welcome to age 2!) but the playhouse was also fun.

Riding a tired horse

The Moo train

William sat in the caboose shoe and Kelli rode in thre front cow. We don't have a good photo of Kelli in the train due to her wanting to get shopping. Mom was a little late getting off work and the anticipation of going to the festival was enough to put her over the edge. We had a long talk later about being thankful for what you have.

Tulip

Acres of tulips. It was a beautiful day.

Sunny day

Here's me at the Tulip Festival. They had lots of fun things to do and buy. There's a little house with a table and plastic / wood food. William served up food until we left. The flowers were in bloom. There was lots of other activities that William enjoyed before the house infact it was hard to get him a way from the slides and swings.
Here's Willy-am getting a drink from the hose. It was finally warm enough yesterday to have him play outside with water.

Kelli is a good sport about this- but sometimes William is not the best judge of his strength. Unfortunately, William has found himself in time out more often for trying to go outside- he'd rather be outside all the time and also for throwing tantrums. The next 12 months should be fun.

Boxing Day

We got creative and made a small playhouse out of a big box last week. Kelli and William acted like it was the ship from Curious George, but that was last week. This week it has turned on it's side and is a cross between the gallows and a trampoline/ slide for William.

William's curls

'e

Here's the best pictures we could get of William's curly hair. It is the curliest when he gets up from long naps. But its hard to get him to hold still for a picture.
We're waiting for Bill and Mary to get back before he gets his first hair cut.

Catching up with life

Sorry it's been a while since we've posted. After the day off of school, Kelli came back from school the next day with a bad cold and cough. Needless to say, the virus made it's way through the family. We're all better now.

Kelli is busy learning her multiplication tables. It seems rather boring to her. Hopefully it will start to sink in for her soon.

William is wild about cars. I don't like going to the local drug store because he knows there's a toy car display near the entrance. He's almost unrestrainable when we get in the door. Knowing their marketing power, I can't go to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription without passing by the display. Maybe it's time to change where I get my prescriptions filled.

I'll work with Kelli to get her posting again soon. Next week we're going to Circus Ole sans William. It should be fun.

Here's a much better picture of me. It's a little bit older taken in January. I have on my older glasses . The one on the park slide has my new glasses. I got my new glasses because Mom let William into my room and he broke my spare frames while she was doing the laundry.
I have my hair straightened in this picture. Today I didn't do much to my hair- as there was no school today, President's day. We appreciate the fact that presidents don't want us to go to school. When are the other 41 presidents' birthdays?

Here's one of me going down the slide. This isn't the best picture, but it's one of me today. I liked going tothe park. Mom made me go to a Mexican restuartant afterwards. The only good thing was that I also got to rent a DVD.

I'll post a better picture of me. Mom needs to schedule a haircut for me soon.

He's a picture of William before he went down the slide. Mom took out his pacifier so that he could give you his classic camera smile- closed eyes and all.

William insisted that he be given a chance to drive the car after our visit to the park. He wouldn't allow mom to strap him into his car seat, so she gave into a little "driving" time.

He liked the park and went down many of the slides, swings, played with 2 dogs and Mom just had to make sure he didn't try to play with the big kids - teenagers at the park. He didn't seem to fear anything except the swinging bridge.

It might be spirng

William's toe ( the one that went to the market) is doing much better today. His bump on his forehead also went down, so he didn't look bad at church. Today I was King Noah during a primary reader's theater. I think William would have been better but, it was better than just sitting listening like the other 11-12 kids had to do.
It was another nice day ( like yesterday). I went to the Russian girls' house and played Uno. I read an American Girl book while they ate dinner. There was a movie then, we had some ice cream. We also walked up to the Abbey.

William loves cars. Dad turned on a car race after church and William loved it. He thought if he put his matchbox cars into the VCR slot they might show up in the race, but no such luck. Mom and him went to Grandma and Grandpa Puffer's house. They were pet sitting a parakeet for my Aunt Jill and her family. William was fascinated with the bird. He tried to pet it many times, but the bird would have none of it. When it got out of it's cage and sat on Grandpa's shoulder he was jealous.

Last night we finished 2 Nephi. Tomorrow, I hope the girls will help me post pictures to my blog. Dad tried earlier today but, didn't succeed.

Miscellaneous

We're having a beautiful day here. The sun was out most of the day. It was cold in the shade but nice in the sun. I went out to the library today. It was crowded. I wish they had more space instead of books.

My brother got his toe hurt. The nail of the big toe (the one that goes to market) is blue. He also has a large bump on his forehead from falling against a bookshelf. He has injured his lip twice this week, falling while having something in his mouth. We pray every day that he won't be permanently injured and survive to an old age. It's hard being under 2.

Tomorrow I will play King Noah at church. I don't know why they chose me to play that as I'm not a boy and I don't like playing evil people. I also don't like being in plays. I think my brother would be a better choice for this part. Him or my dad.
